EWC Has a Collapse Problem and It Lives in the Rosh Pit

Collapse has stolen the Aegis four times across two EWC events. The Rosh pit is not safe when Collapse is around...

The Aegis steal is the most disproportionate play in professional Dota. A team commits to killing Roshan, but an enemy who reads the play correctly rushes in at the last second to snatch the Aegis away. The momentum swing is instant and total. Collapse has become the master of this at EWC, with two snatches at EWC 2026 already.

He pulled it off first at EWC 2025 in Riyadh, in game two of the semifinal against PARIVISION. Collapse was on Primal Beast and PARIVISION had the lead when they went for Roshan. Collapse crashed in and snatched the Aegis as it dropped. PARIVISION went for another Rosh kill later on, only for a master thief to snatch the Aegis away again. Spirit were losing that game before both steals. They won it at 49 minutes.

In the post-match interview Collapse mentioned that he uses a Dota Labs setting to highlight only items on screen during Rosh fights, filtering out every hero model so he can click the Aegis cleanly in the chaos rather than accidentally targeting someone standing next to it. He thanked Valve for adding it. This is the kind of detail that separates someone who has thought seriously about a play from someone who got lucky once.

EWC 2026 moved to Paris, and on the first day of the tournament Collapse was on Treant Protector against MOUZ and snatched the Aegis away twice in the same game.

What makes this remarkable isn't only the number of snatches, but the circumstance each time. Collapse isn't picking up loose Aegises in games Spirit have already won. The snatches happened when Team Spirit really needed to change the outcome of the game. The Aegis steal is most valuable precisely when the game is closest, and that is exactly when Collapse keeps doing it.

The Rosh pit at EWC has now produced four Collapse steals across two events. At some point the preparation has to change. First kill Collapse, then go for Rosh. 😂
